National Insurance Company (NIC) was founded in 1961 by Carlos M. Benítez and it has been family run for two generations.

In 1984, NIC opened a branch in the State of Florida, and since, has proven its dedication and commitment to this marketplace. In order to optimize growth and expansion, NIC formed a Florida domiciled company in 2004, National Group Insurance Company (NGIC). NGIC will help solidify our commitment to the state as well as aid in risk distribution and diversification. 

NIC’s expertise in Florida is on commercial business, offering multiple line coverages including commercial multi-peril, automobile, contractors, restaurants, and garage. Controlled growth and sound underwriting has been reflected in our positive operating results.

NIC and NGIC are members of National Group, a financial group consisting of companies in areas such as life insurance, premium finance, information systems, and claims handling, among others. National Group, established in 1956, has always been recognized for its superior products, integrity, human relations, and excellent customer service.
